What’s the first thing you did this morning? Did you hit the snooze button or did you wake up excited and grateful to have a new day on this planet?
In this article Educolada will be sharing time management fixes to manage your time effectively and to be more productive.
First Hour of the Day
Believe it or not, how you spend the first hour of your day can have significant effect on your mood, motivation, mental energy and health. First thing that you must do is to avoid any tech contact. Checking your phone first thing in the morning has a negative effect on your mental health as notifications from the previous day make you feel like you have cloud over your head, leaving you hesitant to get up. Secondly, you should visualize and plan your day ahead. There is strength in the power of visualization. When you see yourself doing something, you will have the will to go ahead and do them as well. Keeping your head clear for the first hour of your day will increase your overall productivity throughout the day.
Early in the morning, before the sun rises is that peaceful and pristine time when you are far away from all the distraction, embracing the quietness around you and working on your inner self. Your inner health reflects your outer health and work productivity. It is when you focus your energy on the right track i.e. on the things that require your focus and attention. Doing so it’s just like operating a DSLR. The way that you adjust your camera lens to blur out everything and keep your focus on your ultimate target, to get a beautiful picture, to get a beautiful result.
Simplify as much as possible
“Truth is ever to be found in simplicity, and not in the multiplicity and confusion of things.” – Sir Isaac Newton
There are always ways to simplify – to take something back to its simplest form – so that you can redesign it, rebuild it the way you want it to take shape, and reclaim your time, focus, and energy.
Reading Books and Articles that lead to Positive change
It is more helpful to read books and articles related to Psychology, Habit change, Time Management, Health, Spirituality etc.The ideology behind this is that the level of knowledge you have in these areas affects the way you lead your life more profoundly. For instance, if you are aware of what daily habits will improve your mood and apply them, you will be a happier and more productive person.
Right Eating habits
Time management is inversely proportional to laziness. The more lazy you feel, less effectively you will utilize the available time.
“The day I complete my sleep is the day i’ll change the world” – Lazy People!
To be more active, limit carbohydrate intake. Try to limit the amount of sugary foods you eat and instead include healthier sources of carbohydrate in your diet such as wholegrains, vegetables, fruits, legumes and lower fat dairy products.
Give yourself at least 21 days
Research has found that it takes at least 21 days to form or delete a habit. You need some time to get used to it. It won’t be easy at first but you need to keep going! Personal change is a process that can be hardest at the beginning. Be it managing time and be productive or losing your weight. It does not happen in a day or in a week. It takes time to overcome the pull of your old habit. Always give yourself at least 21 days to install a habit.
